In Memoriam: Steve Bellumori

It is with great sadness that SILVAR announces the passing of longtime member Steve Bellumori. A REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker in Menlo Park, Steve died of a massive heart attack yesterday evening, August 14, 2014. He was 65 years old.

A licensed real estate broker since 1983 and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Steve served as California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) regional vice president for five Boards of Realtors. He was past president of the Menlo Park-Atherton Board of REALTORS®, a C.A.R. Director and member of C.A.R.'s Executive Committee.

A staunch supporter of SILVAR, Steve served on various committees, including SILVAR's Professional Standards Committee. Most of all, Steve was a passionate advocate of PRDS Forms and served for over 22 years as a member of the PRDS Standard Forms Committee, responsible for drafting all contract, disclosure documents and forms used by nearly all REALTORS® in the market area.

"For the past 23 years Steve dedicated thousands of hours serving on the PRDS Forms Committee, the elite team of agents, brokers and attorneys that keeps the forms library current, reflective and responsive to local practice," said SILVAR Executive Officer Paul Cardus. "Steve was ardent in advocating and working to ensure that PRDS continue to provide the very best tools available for agents on the Peninsula and South Bay. The continued importance of PRDS owes much to his passion."

Steve was loved and well-respected by his colleagues. "There are no words to describe what I am feeling and I know you are feeling. We have lost an extraordinary human being and the real estate industry has lost an icon," said Wendy McPherson, broker manager of the Coldwell Banker Menlo Park and Woodside/Portola Valley offices, upon announcing the news to Coldwell Banker personnel. She added, "Steve was an agent's agent. People went to him for everything and looked to him as a mentor."

SILVAR President-elect Chris Isaacson, who is with the Coldwell Banker Woodside office, said Steve's sparkling personality and generous spirit brightened any room he entered. "Steve was dedicated to his profession, always pleasant and willing to share his time with his colleagues. He will be missed by all of us," said Isaacson.

A very successful REALTOR®, Steve received many awards during his real estate career. He was named Menlo Park/Atherton 1991 REALTOR® of the Year, was considered among the Top 50 REALTOR® Individual Performers in the U.S. by the National Association of REALTORS®, and belonged to the International President's Premier Top 1% Coldwell Banker Worldwide.

Steve served his clients and his profession for more than three decades with exceptional skill and integrity. His dedication to his clients was more important to him than his myriad sales awards. He noted on his website, "The most important aspect to me in receiving sales awards is to feel confident that the sales were accomplished by keeping the best interests of the client at the forefront of how they were represented in selling or buying a home."

Steve is survived by his wife Darline and two sons. Memorial services are pending.
